OMSC Seeks Director of Program
and Community Life

The Overseas Ministries Study Center seeks a missiologically informed, academically competent, editorially proficient, and professionally respected team player for a new senior staff position—Director of Program and Community Life.

The successful candidate will participate in general planning, program development, and administration; be responsible for publicity, recruitment, registration, and logistics for OMSC’s mission seminars; share in lecturing, tutorial instruction, planning and leading worship, and advising international missionary residents and church leaders; nurture relationships with churches, academic institutions, and community agencies; foster OMSC community life by helping to coordinate resident programs and social activities and by participating in them; represent OMSC at conferences and consultations concerned with world mission; conduct research on current trends and issues in the Christian world mission; and engage in research and writing projects for the purpose of publication.

Candidates interested in this position, which commences in mid-2011, are asked to send a résumé, a cover letter, and three references that provide opinions about  their academic, administrative, and editorial skills and experience to Dr. Jonathan J. Assistant Professor in Missions and Intercultural Studies

The President is the chief executive officer of the organization and ex-officio member of its board and committees.  The UB is a non-profit organization with offices in New York and Hong Kong to support colleges and universities in Asia.  It is an equal opportunity employer.
Responsibilities:

  • to work in close collaboration with the Board of Trustees to implement its policies and decisions;

  • to work closely with the Vice-President for Programs and other executive staff;

  • to identify and utilize the best and brightest minds in Asia to conceive and implement programs that express the vision and mission of the UB;

  • to explore and cultivate funding sources in  Asia and North America;

  • to have administrative oversight of all staff, finances and communication of the UB, and be responsible for hiring through open searches all executive and support staff;

Trinity Theological College
Singapore

Trinity Theological College, Singapore, invites application for a faculty position in missiology, with special responsibilities within the Mission Practice Research Cluster of the Centre for the Study of Christianity in Asia (CSCA). The successful candidate is expected to work with academics, church leaders and mission agencies in critical reflection on the impact of the Christian mission enterprise in South East Asia.

The post also carries teaching and thesis supervision responsibilities in the College. Applicants should hold a postgraduate degree in Missiology, proficient in English, preferably including Chinese or Indonesian. Cross-cultural missionary experience is an advantage.
