Overseas Ministries Study Center
Help Wanted: July 2008

The Overseas Ministries Study Center seeks a married host/hostess couple to live in residence on our campus, beginning in July 2008. One person will be full-time, responsible for hospitality, housekeeping, secretarial support, and security of three campus buildings. The other person will be part-time, responsible for hospitality, security, and livery service as needed.

The couple should have excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with people from all over the world. Flexibility is required. Salary, medical benefits, and a fully-furnished, air-conditioned apartment are provided. Complete job descriptions are available upon request. This could be an ideal position for a retired couple or for a missionary family on extended furlough for family or medical reasons.

Director of the Centre for the Study of Christianity
in the Non-Western World

One of the largest UK centres for Theology and Religious Studies, the School of Divinity houses in its historic New College buildings an internationally renowned research community.

Chair salary will be on the Professorial scale £44,074 – £49,606 (Reader/Senior Lecturer)

Applications from experienced scholars are invited for a post at Reader or Senior Lecturer level, although
individuals who merit professorial rank may be considered for appointment to the established Chair
in World Christianity (this title-change is awaiting approval by University Court). It is hoped that you are
able to take up duties from 1 September 2008, but a later date can be agreed.

You will lead and develop the activities of this internationally respected Centre, especially in recruiting, teaching an supervising postgraduate students (including particularly overseas students), the formulation of projects for research funding, organising of conferences, and planning the future direction of the Centre. You will also share
in teaching, particularly in the taught masters degree programme in World Christianity.

You should have an international profile in research, proven expertise in teaching and supervising postgraduate
students, and experience in effective academic leadership and in obtaining external research funding.

with demonstrated sensitivity to the historical contexts and the missiological and theological issues involved
in the varied contextualizations of Christianity beyond North Atlantic settings.
